Yvonne Merrill is a longtime environmental advocate informed by her love of the outdoors and her wolf guiding spirit. Born and raised in New Mexico, she spent her freshman year at the University of New Mexico. She transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson where, over time, she completed her degrees. Her B.A. is in French and political science, her M.A. in curriculum development for teaching French and English, and her Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition. She taught twenty years at local high schools and twenty years at the university. At the ripe age of 73, she turned her interest to creative writing.
